Adoption Process

Find out how to adopt your new best friend

When you're ready to adopt a lifelong companion, we suggest that you visit our available pets page to find a cat or dog that seems like it would fit into your family's lifestyle. Once you've decided on the right pet, you can fill out an application and go through our Adoption Process as outlined below.

We do not have a physical shelter - all of our animals reside in private foster homes. If you are interested in seeing a particular cat or dog, please contact us.

where do i submit my application?

Please e-mail completed applications to animalcoordinator@coppellhumanesociety.org

what happens once i’ve submitted my application?

Once you send the application, an adoption coordinator will contact you, generally within 1-2 days. Sending an application enables CHS to review the information and pre-approve adoptions. It doesn't obligate you to adopt, but allows us to hold the animal of your choice until you have the opportunity to meet the animal in person and complete the adoption process. Please note that we do not adopt animals outside the Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas area.
